Avis emphasizes Integrity, Open Communication, and Respect when dealing with each of her valued clients.  She is committed to helping them achieve both their personal and financial goals.  As a Woodfield Planning Corporation loan officer, Avis educates each of her clients in the process of acquiring a mortgage. Her knowledge and expertise enables her to navigate through each unique situation, achieving a workable solution in most cases for each of her clients.

Avis graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Merchandising.  She spent more than 25 years as a Human Resource officer in corporate America, the last 18 years with W.W. Grainger.  When she resigned from Grainger, she was Director of Human Resources.

To provide her a sound foundation in her new field of mortgage origination, Avis spent six weeks (four in Atlanta) studying to receive her XCO (Xinnix Certified Originator) designation in 2006.  Xinnix certification requires over 400 hours of course studies covering 90 areas in the mortgage industry and passing an eight-hour certification exam.  Less than half of 1% of all Loan Officers in the country has achieved this prestigious designation.  The certification of an XCO reflects four core principles of success: knowledge, discipline, skills, and ethics.

In 2007, Avis earned her CMPS^® (Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist) designation.  Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist professionals have demonstrated a high level of financial knowledge and expertise regarding the tax and financial planning implications of various mortgage and real estate investment strategies.  (See another part of this website for more details about the CMPS^® designation.)

Avis is an Illinois native who resides in Long Grove, IL with her husband John, a Bichon puppy, Rosie, and Hazel, a very special cat.  Avis is a member of the board of her church (Village Church of Barrington), deacon of worship and an active member of the choir. She is also involved in the Barrington Chamber of Commerce and a member of the board of directors of the Lake Zurich area Chamber of Commerce.  In addition, she enjoys gourmet cooking, reading and family travel.
